The chrysanthemum or Kiku represents longevity, rejuvenation and nobility. It was first introduced to Japanese culture by China as Japan was greatly influenced by them during the 5th Century. It was so impactful that the Japanese imperial family adopted the symbol by using it for official seals and the throne. Thus, the “chrysanthemum throne.” It is still used as a symbol for the Japanese royal family to date

Because of such a propitious meaning, it is frequently showcased on decorations, accessories, kimonos, porcelains and is even on the 50 Yen coin.

They even have a National Holiday for the beautiful flower which is on September 9th which was established in 910 AD.

This white indigo Yukata kimono with chrysanthemum flowers can be adjusted or a form of a belt may be used to tie around the waist to adjust it so that it can be shortened.
